Career and range of consulting services
After obtaining his law degree in Göttingen, Vienna and Berlin, Stefan Kopp-Assenmacher worked as a research assistant at Humboldt University Berlin (chair: Prof. Dr. M. Kloepfer), at the Research Centre for Environmental Law and at the European Centre for Comparative Government and Public Policy. He was admitted to the bar in 1999. In the period 2006 to April 2013, Mr. Kopp-Assenmacher held the position of partner in a nationwide law firm specialising in environmental and technology law. He founded the Kopp-Assenmacher Rechtsanwälte law firm in 2013. In 2016, he became a founding partner of the Kopp-Assenmacher & Nusser law firm where he specialises primarily in environmental law. This includes environment-related approval and licensing law, immission control, water and waste law, soil protection and nature conservation law, substance law, hazardous incident law and emissions trading law as well as all associated interdisciplinary areas, such as environmental impact assessments, environmental information law and procedural environmental law. On top of this, Mr. Kopp-Assenmacher represents clients in cases of environment-related misdemeanours and cases under environmental criminal law.
He advises medium-sized and big companies in the energy industry, the water and wastewater industry and the waste industry. His clients also comprise industrial enterprises active in the chemical raw materials industry and in cement, paper, glass, wood, steel and metal production and processing, as well as food and beverage companies.
