Gregor Franßen, EMLE (Madrid), joined Kopp-Assenmacher & Nusser as a partner in 2019. He has been practising environmental law since 2002, specialising in the waste and water industry, mining, nuclear energy, municipal management and procurement. His clients include medium-sized private and municipal enterprises, business associations and government agencies. Gregor Franßen regularly gives lectures, publishes papers and is involved in various expert committees.

The “JUVE Handbook of Commercial Law Firms” rates Mr. Gregor Franßen as a “highly regarded” lawyer in the area of environmental and planning law and a “very competent environmental lawyer” (2017/2018) who is “frequently recommended” (2018/2019).

After obtaining his law degree from the Free University of Berlin and the University of Cologne, Gregor Franßen enrolled in the “Programme for Law and Economics” at the universities of Hamburg, Gent and Madrid (Complutense) and was awarded the “European Master of Law and Economics” (EMLE, Madrid) with distinction in 1999. He completed his legal clerkship, which included postings in Beijing and Ulan Bator, in late 2001. Since his admission to the bar in 2002, Gregor Franßen has specialised in environmental law. Until late 2018, he held the position of senior partner at a law firm in Essen. Gregor Franßen joined Kopp-Assenmacher & Nusser Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten as a partner in 2019 and is active in the fields of environmental law and the environmental economy, both in an advisory capacity and as a litigator before administrative, civil and constitutional courts. He provides comprehensive legal advice on all matters relating to the waste industry and all different plant types, predominantly to private and municipal enterprises. In the water industry, his clients include water associations and municipal enterprises, in the mining industry, he advises companies and authorities, in the nuclear law area federal and state authorities and in the procurement area primarily public clients. He is a regular speaker at relevant specialist and advanced training events, is involved in several business associations and publishes regularly in commentaries and professional journals.
