About Dr. Henning Blatt
Dr. Henning Blatt joined the Kopp-Assenmacher & Nusser law firm as a partner in 2019. He specialises in environmental law, in particular waste law, immission control law and water law as well as mining law and information law. For the most part, his clients consist of municipal, medium-sized enterprises and the public sector. Dr. Blatt has authored numerous papers and is a regular speaker at professional events.
Career and range of consulting services
Dr. Henning Blatt obtained his law degree from the University of Hanover and completed his legal clerkship, which included a posting at the German embassy in Phnom Penh, in mid-2009. In the period between his two state examinations, he worked as a research assistant at Leibniz University Hanover and at the Institute for International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict at Ruhr-Universität Bochum and was awarded his doctorate in 2010 for his dissertation on an international law subject (under Prof. Dr. Volker Epping). In October 2010, after his admission to the bar, he joined the public law team of a medium-sized commercial law firm in Essen and became a partner in the law firm in early 2016. At the turn of the year 2018/2019, he joined Kopp-Assenmacher & Nusser Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten.
On behalf of his clients, which primarily consists of municipal and medium-sized enterprises and authorities, Dr Blatt is active in an advisory and forensic capacity before the administrative and civil courts in the fields of environmental law and mining law. A further focus of his work is information law, specifically freedom of information and environmental information law, a field in which he regularly represents both claimants and opponents.
